The confidential personal health data of about 1.7 million New York City patients, hospital staffers and others were stolen in December, the city’s Health and Hospitals Corp. reported Friday.

This article proves just how critical it is to know where and how your data is being secured. This also speaks to the point of having a feature like the IPAD has which can wipe data remotely.  I would also argue that many of the ASP hosted EMRs could use this as possible leverage in showing how easy data can be stolen from an office.  All it takes is someone breaking into your office once and stealing your server.  It happens every year all across the country in Medical offices but you just don’t hear about it as much.
