A good friend mine recently decided to use the Urochart EMR system for their practice. They reviewed a few different programs before deciding on this EMR solution and we agreed with their decision. I reviewed some of the programs with them like, AthenaHealth, Eclinicalworks, OncoEMR, and a few others and felt from the beginning that it was going to be hard to beat the Urology specific EMR platform. My three primary concerns with the program were that it did not have an integrated Billing System, they are fairly new to the game, and was not CCHIT certified when we were reviewing everything. They have since gained CCHIT certification and have worked with us and our lab to get some of the costs covered.
We will not go live until December, but I am curious if anyone can post a comment on their experience with Intuitive Medical’s Urochart EMR. I am helping with the transition to EMR for the practice and would like to know if there is anything specifically that we need to be aware of. You can also use the rating system to rate your overall experience with the program.

I have found the system to be user friendly for the most part but it does take some getting used to. I personally see around 40 patients per day and it took a long time to get back to that level once we went to EMR. We had a problem finding a suitable PM system to marry it with but we eventually did.
There are many components of the Urochart system that I find very user friendly and there are others that make my job more difficult. I was reluctant to implement an EMR system but found myself somewhat pushed into it by my other partners. It has been a difficult transition and at this point I would never go back to paper records. I have had difficulty with the templates and recreating my work flow so it is more efficient using a tablet and the program.
